When you ask the petrol pump attendant to fill 'er up, does he always squeeze the last drop in?
It’s not faster. It takes time to do this.
It’s not more profitable. The extra 50 cents won't make much difference to a R500.00 tankfull.
It’s not more efficient. You won't get much further than usual.
It may even damage the paintwork when it overflows. To say nothing of the fumes he breathes in.
So, why do they do it?
It's how it's always been done - it's traditional
Maybe he thinks the boss will see how hard he's working
He thinks he's in charge. So he can.
What are we busy over-filling in our lives?
Is it really necessary?
