We need to be consistent in three things that we do every day in our small businesses:
How we market our businesses should attract people to knock at our door. When someone makes an enquiry, get in touch with them as soon as you can. Whether it's a pnone call, email or SMS, but get back to them quickly.
My preference is email. I love talking to people, but I don't want to waste anybody else's valuable time.
They're all very busy people.
If no-one contacts you before lunch-time, try emailing (or phoning) an old customer. Just to say: "Hi, how's it going?"
You may be surprised at the responses you get.
