Weddings that are bigger and better than ours. Beautiful food. Perfect puddings. Wonderful cake. Friendly relatives. The beautiful people. Classier outfits. Luscious gardens. Bigger and better. Costing a fortune.
Social media statuses from folk who are doing so fabulously well. Better than me. Wish it was me.
The TV and glossy magazine ads showing who we'd like to be, not who we are.
For a while it's okay to imagine what could be.
Eventually though, all this fantasy wears thin.
Then it’s better to switch off - and get my own life back on track. Like now, dude.
No more Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn for me. No more Messenger or WhatsApp
I'd rather talk to folk who want to talk to me. Not the masses.
