We are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear -- Jim Rohn.
Some things we are afraid of because of past experiences. Or by something someone told us about. Or read in the newspaper. Or saw it on the news on television.
Some fears are justified. Who walks around Hillbrow at 2 o'clock in the morning any more?
Or anywhere, for that matter. Once we know that it's dangerous, we just don't do it.
No need to live in fear of it then, is there?
Fear or worry are the things that stop us from doing what we really want to.
Even the most basic fears can ruin one's life. They have to be faced.
Ask yourself: Will I die if I do this?
If not, then stop worrying and just do it! My apologies to Nike.
Worrying about things never got anything done. It just stops the doing.
Most of us doubt the present, past and future. We doubt the government. We doubt the opportunities. We doubt each other. We doubt ourselves.
We have to fight this "thing" within ourselves. Nobody can do it for us.
Learn to handle the fear and worry.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.
The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
Face the fears and just do what you want to do with your life. As long as it's legal!
