Today is a bit of a rant.
I know all the sales experts tell me I should always phone every prospect or customer.
I know that's how it has always been done, and I used to in my previous lives.
But times have changed. I believe that the cellphone has been abused.
Certainly since the advent of the Smartphone. Now it isn't merely to stay in touch.
Now it's a marketing and sales tool for all and sundry. Or a scam.
Just like television and the newspapers
We can't even unsubscribe if we don't like something. Irritating adverts, Ad Nauseam
And don't even get me started on Facebook, Twitter and the rest of them.
My phone is normally on Silent, so I don't hear when it rings or pings.
If I know who you are, I will call you back when I check my phone.
If I don't know who you are and you don't leave a message, I won't.
I do not respond to tweets or posts, so don't even bother me with those.
Same with Whatsapp. I will respond to your request if you include your email address.
I send catalogues and price lists by email, on request. Not SMS or Whatsapp.
If we have dealt with each other before, you will be on my Contact List, so I will have your details. I then also know who's calling. Same with Whatsapp.
I love email. Probably because of the simplicity and speed.
I respond to emails immediately, If not sooner. Well, more or less.
Nothing is that urgent that it can't wait a little while. If it's not fatal, it's not serious.
No wonder people lead such stressful lives. Always on, always available.
Always in a rush, busy, busy, busy.
Sorry, I can't help. Leave a message and I may get back to you.
Or reply to my email and we can talk.
If it's urgent, you should have done it last week. Too late now.
If you want to know how to use email properly Check this out.
Okay rant over, I'll go check my phone. There may be a message for me.
PS. There's no need to phone me for details. Everything is on each page.
If you want to know more, complete the form and I'll respond.
